An opening repertoire for the positional player + Bonus PGNs (player Gufeld & books)

Image
By Gufeld, Eduard Efimovich; Kalinichenko, Nikolaĭ; Neat, Kenneth P One of the hardest tasks faced by competitive chess players is the development of an opening repertoire suited to their own style of play. As in their companion volume An Opening Repertoire for the Attacking Player (also translated by Ken Neat), the authors provide a refined and thoroughly up-to-date opening program, this time selecting variations of a more positional nature. For example, this title includes practical repertoire based on 1 e4 as White and the Classical Sicilian and King's Indian Defenses as Black. It concentrates on solid and reliable lines of play and provides an easy-to-learn explanation of the typical plans and ideas. Eduard Gufeld is one of the most popular and widely traveled grandmasters, and is known throughout the world as a coach, opening theoretician, journalist and author. Nikolai Kalinichenko, author of more than 30 chess books, holds the International Master title in cor...

New in chess yearbook 52 : The Master's Choice. Surprising Moves for Well-Known Positions

Image
By   Sosonko, Gena; Sterren, Paul van der Thus a variation on the well-known Ruy Lopez Exchange end-game has arisen from the Scotch Opening. In the Ruy Lopez White's queenside pawns are usually intact. Here they are doubled and isolated, seemingly an easy target. However, Emanuel Lasker was the first to demonstrate that White's chances are decisively better in spite of the doubled pawns. His third match game against David Janowsky - another chess titan - is one of his most instructive victories on the same topic and it will repay close study. Let us mention also that according to Capablanca's lessons White should win since there are pawn majorities on both sides.   If any problem to downloading please visit:    https://easy4downloader.blogspot.com/p/how-to-download.html Get it: http://www.filedwon.info/5avgnfuq8qmo Or https://mega4up.com/f7gdkxkuafre Or  http://raboninco.com/JYD _______________________________ Get more Chess resources from here : http...

Chess- Vladimir kramnik's best games

Image
Apparently there is no single Kramnik game which by its class is considered to stand out from all the others (as is, for example, the case for Kasparov's famous sacrificial attack against Topalov, Wijk 1999). However, the favorite games are here and present a great variety of important and beautiful victories.   If any problem to downloading please visit:    https://easy4downloader.blogspot.com/p/how-to-download.html Get it: http://www.filedwon.info/hms2gydv84ve Or https://mega4up.com/34hjlhid98vd Or  http://maetrimal.com/3Yyj _______________________________ Get more Chess resources from here : http://crefranek.com/4HUk PGNs endgame http://hinafinea.com/4jPz A renewable huge collection of PGNs ebook http://hinafinea.com/3FHo PGNs ebook http://crefranek.com/4HRU Ebooks by Andrew Soltis (PDF, PGN) from here: http://hinafinea.com/5GVT More Chess Miniature Collection from here http://hinafinea.com/1cAd PGNs endgame http://hinafinea.com/4jPz Player PGNs http://crefr...

How to build your chess opening repertoire by Giddins, Steve

Image
In this book, the first to focus on these issues, Steve Giddins provides common-sense guidance on one of the perennial problems facing chess-players. He tackles questions such as: whether to play main lines, offbeat openings or 'universal' systems; how to avoid being 'move-ordered'; how to use computers; if and when to depart from or change your repertoire. Giddins argues that from novice to grandmaster, a player's basic task when choosing a repertoire is the same: he needs to select openings that suit his playing style and that he can play with confidence. The repertoire should not require more memory work and study than he is capable of, or has time for. The book is rounded off with a look at the use of 'role models' and an investigation of the repertoires of leading players past and present.   If any problem to downloading please visit:    https://easy4downloader.blogspot.com/p/how-to-download.html Get it: http://www.filedwon.info/vtodb9ma1ob1 Or https://...

The unknown Bobby Fischer (PDF + PGN) by Donaldson, John, International Master; Tangborn, Eric

Image
The Unknown Bobby Fischer is really four books in one. First of all, it is a detailed look at Fischer's formative years when the young genius went from struggling Class B player to U.S. Champion in the space of two-and-half years. Published accounts of the time, reminiscences and rare photos serve to shed light on a part of Bobby's career that is rarely examined. All told, The Unknown Bobby Fischer offers the reader 87 games, many heavily annotated. Thirty-seven of the games have never been published or have appeared only in periodicals or tournament bulletins! The book concludes with rare interviews and an in-depth look at the large body of literature on Bobby. The authors list their top ten favorite books on Fischer in English and offer the reader an extensive bibliography for further research. Useful player and opening indexes round out this book designed for both die-hard Fischer fans and those interested in an overview of a rich period of American chess hist...

Bronstein: 200 Open Games (PDF +PGN )

Image
The most creative grandmaster of all time? That honor undoubtedly goes to David Bronstein, who has the additional distinction of coming as close the the World Championship title as possible without winning it, tying Botvinnik 12-12 in 1951. Bronstein was the author of 200 Open Games , a compendium of games, mostly his own, all featuring 1.e4 e5. There are King's Gambit's, Petrof's, Scotch Games, but most important, more than 100 games in the Ruy Lopez. The games are not exhautively annotated, but there are some great stories and usually a lesson or two for each game. Elements of chess strategy by Kosikov, Alexei

Image
Forming a plan is the most important goal of logical chess thought. Without a good plan, we are reduced to tactical opportunism, rather than harnessing the power of our pieces to achieve specific tasks and make methodical progress towards victory. However, few chess-players - even those fortunate enough to have a trainer - develop a disciplined approach to planning. In this book, one of the world's leading chess teachers provides step-by-step guidelines for identifying the features of a position onto which our strategy should be latched. He adopts a thoroughly modern approach, recognizing that the opponent will have his own plans and be attempting to disrupt ours. The effectiveness of Kosikov's methods - in particular the STEPS algorithm - is shown by his pupils' over-the-board proficiency. Having presented the basics of orderly strategic thinking, Kosikov shows them at work in a variety of middlegame and endgame situations, especially the strategic minefield ...
