Ebook :: Chess Explained: The Queen's Indian in PDF

Image
Chess Explained is a new series of books about chess openings. They are not theoretical works in the traditional sense, but more a series of lessons from a chess expert with extensive over-the-board experience with an opening. You will gain an understanding of the opening and the middlegames to which it leads, enabling you to find the right moves and plans in your own games. It is as if you were sitting at the board with a chess coach answering your questions about the plans for both sides, the ideas behind particular moves, and what specific knowledge you need to have. The Queen's Indian is an important and popular opening at all levels of play. Black's flexible stance allows him to choose between a range of solid and dynamic structures. In turn, White can play flexibly, opposing Black's fianchetto, or can try to force the pace in the centre and start a hand-to-hand fight. It is an opening rich in nuances, and many of the modern main lines involve moves that l...

Dvoretsky - 8 famous ebooks in PGN format

Image
Dvoretsky was born in Moscow in 1947. He learnt chess when he was around 5 or 6 years old. However, he started to study chess seriously and participate in tournaments only when he was in the fifth grade. Before that he had a different interest – mathematics. One day his math teacher was changed, and a boring one was the replacement. He lost his interest in math and moved towards chess. He was around 11-12 years old when he enrolled in a chess club in Moscow. He was awarded the International Master title in 1975, and for a time he was widely regarded as the strongest IM in the world. This was due to a number of excellent results: he was Moscow Champion in 1973, finished equal fifth in a strong Soviet Championship in 1974, and won the Wijk aan Zee Masters tournament of 1975 by a clear point and a half. Along with another creditable finish at the USSR Championship of 1975, the results were an indication that he was already of grandmaster strength.  (source Wikipedia) ...

Dvoretsky’s Endgame Manual ebook in PDF

Image
A modern classic. The first edition of Dvoretsky’s Endgame Manual was immediately recognized by novice and master alike as one of the best books ever published on the endgame. This second edition is revised and enlarged “now over 400 pages” covering all the most important concepts required for endgame mastery. Presentation of the material . The material here is presented mainly in a traditional manner, classified according to the material relationships on the board. First pawn endings are analyzed, then those with minor pieces, then rook-and-pawn, etc. But this method is not followed too strictly. For example, the queen-versus-pawns section is in chapter 1, to demonstrate immediately what can arise in some sharp pawn endings. In the chapter on pawn endings, you will meet some terms and techniques (such as “corre- sponding squares,” “breakthrough,” “shouldering” etc.) that are important for many kinds of endgame. Some of these techniques are illustrated by additional examples with more ...

Catalog of Chess Mistakes ebook by Soltis (PDF + PGN)

Image
Chess is a game of bad moves. It is, in fact, the game that most depends on error, No game has a greater variety of ways of going wrong or gives you as many opportunities--dozens on every move.Other games depend heavily on chance or on the mastery of some relatively limited skills. But a chess game is decided by the failings of one of the players. Yet we refuse to recognize this. \Ve like to think the game is a battle between good moves and better moves. vVhen we win, we tell ourselves-and anyone who wlll listen-that the critical difference was our fine maneuvering, our positional cunning, or our tactical ingenuity. \Vhen we lose, weIl, it was a stupid mistake- as if errors were an aberration, an extraordinary accident. Mistakes can only be messy, ugly, and disruptive, we say.   Download Ebook : PDF:   http://www.4file.net/jzuhdq8zx892 PGN: http://www.4file.net/spwju7vly9z4 Enjoy!!! Introduction to Chess Strategy PDF

Image
Chess strategy is the aspect of chess playing concerned with evaluation of chess positions and setting of goals and long-term plans for future play. While evaluating a position strategically, a player must take into account such factors as the relative value of the pieces on the board, pawn structure , king safety, position of pieces, and control of key squares and groups of squares (e.g. diagonals, open files , and individual squares). Chess strategy is distinguished from chess tactics , which is the aspect of play concerned with the move-by-move setting up of threats and defenses. Some authors distinguish static strategic imbalances (e.g. having more valuable pieces or better pawn structure), which tend to persist for many moves, from dynamic imbalances (such as one player having an advantage in piece development ), which are temporary. [1] This distinction affects the immediacy with which a sought-after plan should take effect. Until players reach the skill level of ...

What miniature refers to in chess? In chess, “miniatures” are short games — generally 25 moves or fewer . A person on the losing end usually has made at least one critical error that has quickly led to a hopeless position. It might be assumed that miniature losses happen only to inexperienced players, or in games in which one player is vastly superior to the other. But even world-class players can make mistakes, and some of the best have lost a miniature. In a 1993 game, Anatoly Karpov, the former world champion, blundered a piece on Move 12 against Larry Christiansen, an American grandmaster, and promptly resigned. The shortest miniature might have been a 1984 game in the United States Championship between Kamran Shirazi, an Iranian-born international master, who was playing White, and Jack Peters, another international master. The game, in its entirety, went 1 e4 c5 2 b4 cb4 3 a3 d5 4 ed5 Qd5 5 ab4? Qe5, and Shirazi resigned because he would lose his rook on a1. Source: ...

Collection of Magnus Carlsen Wins in PGN format

Image
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Carlsen became World Chess Champion in 2013 by defeating Viswanathan Anand. In the following year, he retained his title against Anand, and won both the 2014 World Rapid Championship and World Blitz Championship, thus becoming the first player to hold all three titles simultaneously. He defended his classical world title against Sergey Karjakin in 2016, and against Fabiano Caruana in 2018. Known for his attacking style as a teenager, Carlsen has since developed into a universal player. He uses a variety of openings to make it more difficult for opponents to prepare against him and reduce the effect of computer analysis. He has stated the middlegame is his favourite part of the game as it "comes down to pure chess". His positional mastery and endgame prowess have drawn comparisons to those of former World Champions Bobby Fischer, Anatoly Karpov, Vasily Smyslov, and José Raúl Capablanca. A Modest Proposal for the Parliament of Canada

Image
This short satirical work proposes that backbenchers be removed, benches and all, from the Canadian House of Commons, in the interests of modernity and efficiency for both the backbenchers and the rest of the House of Commons. This short work proposes that backbenchers be removed, benches and all, from the Canadian House of Commons, in the interests of modernity and efficiency. A special “Backbencher’s Heaven,” can be set up not far from the Parliaments buildings. There, backbenchers could spend most of their time in up-to-date offices dealing with the voters in their ridings. At the same time, the rest of the Members of Parliament (the ones that really matter) could have the space to install and use current data collection and display systems (built into their desks), the better to debate bills with the facts at their fingertips. A giant leap in productivity is predicted. (Source: http://englishtips.org )   View  and download PDF Mirror
